What to Bring

ALL DANCERS PLEASE BRING COMFORTABLE DANCE SHOES!

logoA good sleeping bags and/or very warm blankets(we are in the mountains so there times when it is very cold), bed linens,a mattress pad, pillow, towels, soap, toiletries, warm clothes (evenings are sometimes cold), rain gear, mat or towel if you plan on taking the yoga class, flashlight and batteries, comfortable dancing shoes, comfortable walking shoes, warm coat, your own drinking cup, mosquito repellent, vitamins, Kleenex, your own sports drink, refillable water bottle, shower slippers, hangers, ear plugs, personal toiletries, sleep attire, bathrobe, class attire (hip scarves, zills, etc.), bathing suits (for sunbathing - sorry no swimming allowed), sunscreen, alarm clock, your medications, cell phone (we are in the woods and you may need to walk around a bit to find good reception), money (for shopping, massages, beverages, bar and/or henna), song lyrics (if applicable), and extra batteries for your own equipment, stuff to sell at the swap meet (if you want). Bring your own instruments and props for classes. Remember to put your name on your instrument.

Note: There is always a fire hazard at this and every camp, so be careful with cigarettes.

NO SMOKING INSIDE ANY STRUCTURE, (smoking is allowed outside and there are cigarette cans outside of all the buildings. No candles, incense, kerosene or oil lamps are allowed in the cabins.  A Pay phone is located in the frond room of the camp office. Please read Cayuga’s ‘Camp Rules & safety Regulations’ flyer that is posted in your cabin Please read Cayuga’s Cleaning procedures for departure Days’ flyer that is posted in your cabin. Please keep your valuables and medications with you and only bring enough medication for the duration of the camp.

Sorry, we love them too but, the campground does not allow any pets

Accomodations  Cabins: Junior Campus cabins accommodate 9 to 12 campers and 2 to 3 college-enrolled counselors All cabins include single beds and bunked-beds. The majority of cabin bathrooms on Junior Campus include 3 private showers, 3 private toilets and 3 sinks. All cabins are equipped with smoke detectors, electrical outlets, a closet, screened windows, hot/cold water, and a cubby for each camper's personal belongings. All cabins are centrally located and easily accessible to the dining hall, infirmary, and activity sites. Electric power is limited! (The local electric company restricts our usage) For this reason, most cabins can handle only two (2) hair-dryers simultaneously. Curling irons are a fire hazard and are prohibited “Camp” Plumbing is much different from your hometown! Only put biodegradable items into the toilets Each cabin is supplied with cleaning equipment, which, which includes a broom, dustpan, mop, mop bucket/wringer, trashcan, cleanser for bathroom and sponges. Please use these items appropriately and do not them from the cabin. Cabins are inspected daily by an authorized Cayuga Staff Member for damage and cleanliness. Cabin cleaning supplies and toilet paper, if needed, can be replenished immediately after each meal in the Dining Hall. Simply ask one of Cayuga’s staff members. Individuals will be charged a damage fee for any damages or destruction to Cayuga’s property. This includes graffiti, cracked windows, torn screens, etc. Do not dissemble bunked-beds or rearrange the order of the beds & cubbies. Keep the cabin in the same arrangement as you found it. Beds, mattresses, and cubbies are to remain in cabin. Do NOT remove them from the cabin! Report all maintenance problems to your Group Leaders; don’t attempt to fix the problem. Upon departure, please refer to the : Cleaning Procedures: flyer posted in your cabin. You are responsible for thoroughly cleaning your cabin and bathroom.
